With a slight sigh, Seohyun drove her way back home to the dorm after class, which had ended even later than usual. There had been a guest speaker, some big name actor from Britain that had come to tell them a little about acting and the various techniques one could use while on stage or behind a camera. It had been really interesting, and Seohyun didn’t regret staying to listen to the entire lecture, even though she was still a little tired from the last few weeks.
Being an idol and a college student at the same time was hard, and sometimes the young woman felt like she was living from appointment to appointment, not really having any time to relax at all. But this had been her own decision, no one had forced her to become a trainee for SM entertainment all those years ago, just like no one was forcing her to attend college. If you made the decision, you needed to live with the consequence, and not complain about all the hard times. Hard work always paid off in the end, she just kept telling herself whenever she felt weary, and it usually got her back in a positive mood.
Doo doo doo doo doo doo, kissing you baby~ doo doo doo doo doo doo, loving you baby~ Seohyun was slightly startled by the sound of her phone, she’d been so sure she’d turned it off earlier… apparently not. What luck that it hadn’t gone off in class, that would’ve been horrible. Seohyun could just guess the faces her classmates and professors would’ve made at her, and rightfully so. She hated it when people’s phones went off during class, disrupting everything. Next time, she’d double check.
Driving up to a nearby parking spot, she turned the car’s engine off and fished in her bag for her cellphone, that just happily continued on with its cheery melody. After tossing a few items aside, she finally found what she was looking for and quickly pressed the phone against her ear, before whomever had decided to call her would hang up, thinking Seohyun wasn’t there.
“Seo Joohyun speaking,” she answered hurriedly, her phone resting on her shoulder as she packed her bag again, “Oh, good evening mother,” she spoke quietly, a smile touching the corners of her mouth, “No, I’m afraid not. The girls are all on a busy schedule, I will be dining alone tonight.” Her smile grew even bigger at her mother’s response to that statement. There were advantages to being an only child, that advantage being that all attention, all affection, it all went out to you. You never had to share your parents’ love with anyone else, which Seohyun had to admit was rather nice at times like these, “I would love to dine with you, did you have anywhere in particular in mind?”
After everything had been discussed, Seohyun said her goodbyes to her mother and drove off to where they’d arranged to meet, a fancy restaurant called the Palace. It was nearby, and it served delicious food, what more could you want? It was still rather early, so the place shouldn’t be packed yet. A nice, quiet evening with her mother. She hadn’t had one of those in a long time, and it wasn’t until after their talk that she realized how much she’d missed it. As much as she saw SNSD as her sisters, they weren’t really sisters. They all had lives and families outside of their little group, and sometimes, you just wanted to spend time with your actual family and just your family, without anyone else there.
The drive to the restaurant took about ten minutes, and thankfully, Seohyun had been right about how busy it would be. There were a decent number of cars on the parking lot, but there were still plenty of spots available. Parking somewhere near the door, she walked up to the front door, smiling politely at a random passerby who had apparently recognized her and had whipped out his phone to take a quick picture, once inside, she walked up to the man handling the reservations and bowed her head a little, “Good evening,” she greeted him quietly, smiling somewhat apologetically, “I fear I’ve failed to make reservations, is there a table available for two people? Or are you fully booked for the night?”

Notes: Wasn’t sure how else to start it, so I hope this is okay. =) Feel free to start wherever you want, at the front desk, when she’s already seated, it’s all good. I figured I’d use the mother as a reason for her to go there, since I didn’t want to godmode the other SNSD members.
