Although Byeongkeun tends to play it cool when he's with people, it doesn't mean that he isn't intuitive. Building relationships with people involve discerning situations outcome-wise and understanding the feelings of others. Even for a popular person. Actually, being popular is an even greater reason to make sure that he had good relations with good people. His popularity would not exist had he been an egotistical jerk.
"I don't remember all the places I've been shopping. It's a hassle really, finding out what looks good. In the future, you could just ask me anything~"
Adjusting his backpack to ease it's weight off his shoulders, Keun nudged her to go into the classroom. Technically, she was already late and he didn't want to be the reason for why she was late. He wasn't going to let her protest now because he was doing a fine job at delivering a tardy study to her class. "To answer your question, Seobyul, the Cold War was most likely very cold-" The first part of his sentence almost sounded smart. :< Keun had to answer all of her questions when they were inside the classroom. He had nudged her along the isles furthest away from the teacher's desk. As he passed the teacher who was reading lesson plans, or doodles, whatever, Keun added another comment, rather loudly, "-And to continue! ...Another COLD war was at Stalingrad, where a great number of German soldiers froze to death due to lack of preparations for Russia's extreme cold. Whew!" Perhaps that would've convinced the teacher to pay less attention to him. It was a free period after all. He had a few excuses prepared just in case the teacher were to ask questions. I've always been here, you just never see me because I'm shy and uh, foreign. or I'm that one kid with my face in my desk, so that's why my face is new to you. This class wasn't as large as his classes, perhaps it was filled with mainly AP students? Reaching the desk, Keun whispered happily that he had learned that one fact about Stalingrad from a video game he had played with his friends. Excitedly, he did a mental fist pump. How cool was this?! This classroom even had colorful borders on the bulletin board. Colors, fun, oh my! As Keun observed the other students in the classroom, he noticed that there really wasn't much of any studying going on. He came to the conclusion that even smarties needed breaks. Instead of sitting with the friends that he knew in the class, Keun assumed that they would understand that he needed to lay low on getting noticed and kicked out of the class. Of course, they already knew the context of day and how much Keun disliked free-swim days. After stretching briefly, he enthusiastically turned to face Seobyul. Her explanation about Amber Young was quite long, so he grinned in response. "About Amber Young, or any of those girls for that matter, they sorta have their own prefigured fantasies about someone they like without actually getting to know said person. They're alright for hook-ups but not much of anything more - and of course we'll be sitting with my friends. I wouldn't want them getting any ideas later on when they see some tutoring going on~" he looked slightly looked up at the ceiling and gave her a small nod. That comment fit in between two breaths. Right after a short thought, Keun put his elbow on his desk and rested his face on his hand. His comment about girls being in different categories probably caught Seobyul's attention. It's not everyday that Keun would share what he thought, but today was set for the new. "Well, it's more of a scale, or scales that intercept each other; Let's go with promiscuous girls, leaders, followers, nerds. It's pretty simply no?" Reaching into his backpack, he pulled out a broken blue crayon and drew on a page of his near-unwritten spiral notebook. It was already filled with drawings and doodles anyway. Keun drew a chart with circles on it, and gently bit his lip in concentration, expecting Seobyul to comment on girls. "Swimming, I uh, I don't want to get dressed in my Speedo today. Far too lazy." Speedos exist because his swimming class was a sort of general conditioning until swim season started. The boys weren't allowed to wear those Hawaii-flower-patterned swim pants anyway. "Your nerd senses were correct! This crazy weather must have made me want to study! I mean, if you consider observing what a tutor does in her free time studying." It's a good thing the class wasn't so large or he would've had a troublesome time trying to talk to one person at a time. He turned more towards her to angle himself from the other student's view. [/blockquote][/blockquote] STARRING : SEOBYUL & BYEONGKEUN, WOO! She jumped slightly at his nudge before walking into class. Out of habit she assumed her usual position. Head down, tugging on the strap of her bag nervously. Maybe that was how she had gotten by unnoticed all these years. But today was different. She had brought a visitor to class. A rather unexpected visitor.
However strange events were today, it felt no different. She kept her head down as she walked past Mr. Jung table. The man was always reading magazines underneath his lesson plans. So study hall was pretty much free period for the class, and many people (especially his friends) took advantage of that. She shook her head in amusement, refusing to believe that he was still talking. Okay so the first part did not make much sense but the second part about operation Barbarossa was correct. She had to give the boy props for that.
“Wow” she spoke to herself, truly impressed. SB automatically went for the second last row of tables. It was quiet and she could do whatever she wanted. She pulled a chair out and sat down. ”My my maybe you do not need me after all” she joked ”But I am impressed congratulations” she told him honestly.
”Oh and about your sweet offer earlier. Thank you but I only shop for clothes once a term. I buy in bulk. Large bulk.” She said with a smile at the memory of her brother having to pick her up because she had two boxes of apparel in tow. just ask me anything of course she did not take him seriously, it was just a figure of speech but it was nice of him. So nice unlike certain boys she knew.
She surveyed the classroom, everything seemed to be in order. Everyone was in their right place, making noise and laughing away. No one seemed to notice, unlike out in the hallway. She heaved a sigh of relief internally, glad that she was finally alone. Well alone meaning at ease, in a comfortable area with people that she could try to relax around.
She raised her eyebrows in surprise at his in depth analysis of Amber young. It sounded like he had given the matter some thought. ”Wow sounds like you’ve figured out these girls and reduced them to nothing but sex objects” she said in her adorable innocent way, like there was nothing wrong with that.
She nodded as he spoke about Amber Young but stopped nodding as soon as he reached the topic of lunch. SB sat up straight and looked at him. ”Oh okay…That’ll be fun” she said dryly. It did not make sense. If he wanted to hide the tutoring why was he even talking to her. Boys were so confusing she thought to herself.
Snapping herself out of her thoughts she turned to face him, face to face, ”You know that I’m not going to slide well with your friends right? I’m pretty sure one of those guys over there sat on me once because he couldn’t see me” she told him in the same as a matter of factly way like she told him how she walked into pillars often.
Realising that their faces were too close she moved back a little, the blush returning to her cheeks again. But upon hearing his breakdown of girls in this school she could not help but let out a light twinkly laugh. It was a genuine laugh for once. That was so ridiculous she might actually believe it. Recovering from her outburst she sat up straight again, ”Sorry but that was so…ingenious” she told him, still smiling. ”By the way, I think I speak for the entire math club when I say we prefer to be called geeks” She nodded in mock seriousness before smiling. She did not need to ask him, by default, she placed herself in the nerd category. Where else would she be classified under. That is if he even bothered to classify her. Her comment was also a joke because she was not in the math club. She hardly participated in extra curricular activities. An hour away from school was an hour well spent.
She watched him doodle on his notebook, wondering if she should ask him the question on her mind. He did say she could ask him anything. ”You know you described and classify the girls in this school rather negatively, there must be one group you favor most hmm?” she ended the question with a hmm wondering about that herself, her gut told her that he probably preferred the leaders like him but her head told her followers. The other two groups seemed out of the question to her. It wasn’t that she was particularly interested in his love life. To be honest she was using her time spent with him to study the boy brain. She was bored of books maybe the new case study would help her win her fight against bullies and get a date to senior prom. Even though she may not seem like it, SB is sort of a romantic. She has some kind of fairytale complex. I mean every girl has the daydream of being swept off her feet by a gorgeous prince or dude.
His mention of speedo made her come back down to earth. She made a face at her thoughts. Oh my god she was actually imagining him in a speedo. Gross she scolded herself. It wasn’t right to imagine your tutee 95% naked. It was just down right disgusting. She shook her head trying to get that image out of her head. ”Thanks for sticking that image in my head speedo” she said jokingly. ”Why not wear a wet suit” she suggested, ”it’ll be easier on my imagination” She shut her eyes and curled her lips, why didn’t the image go away. Her expression was pricelessly comical but she could not see that.
”I do love my geek senses” but SB frowned at his next comment, ”Normally yes I would love to study and let you scrutinize me but not today sorry” she told him, looking straight into his eyes for once. ”I have other plans” she said happily. ”You can help me if you want” she told him cheerfully getting out the stuff. She pulled out a folder from her bag containing different crayon drawings. She spread the drawings out piece by piece on the table in front of them. There were about 26 in total.

Girls were a hard subject for Keun to talk about. Not because he wasn't good with them. This charming knight had his followers under his command if he were to need anything. Though, he hadn't been in a real relationship before because of his reputation - a nice combination of handsome, cool, kind, and popular, that is, going by the superficial descriptions that he he heard around the school. Not like not being in a relationship was particularly bad.
Amber Young - she was one of several girls in whom Keun had taken some interest, if you'd like to call it that. They had gone to a couple of parties and met up there; She was definitely nice to look at, but when it came to personality and aspirations, she had almost none. Then again, Keun wasn't so surprised that popular people can also be shallow, something he always tried not to be. It was as if his followers had a Byeongkeun-Life-Generator which generated different answers after getting fed small pieces of information.
Since Keun had already been spewing his opinions about girls, he might as well continue. It was almost relieving to talk to a girl that didn't just stare and giggle at him. Seobyul's actually like my close friends, people who I can actually talk you without worrying about getting assaulted in any way.
"I've heard some girls talk about what they want to do to a guy, so looks have to amount to that no?" That comment deserved a facepalm, so he did so over his uneasy laugh. Keun tapped his left foot and hands while thinking. Seobyul made a comment about that one incident when she was sat on by one of his friends. He remembered that something along those lines probably happened - well, he and his friends were excited that day after winning several medals and recognition at their last swim meet. "Ah, so that was you! Oh my, I apologize for that friend, haha. Don't worry, they're nice~" And his friends were nice. They were talented, extroverted, and in the same circle as Keun. Thinking about that incident again, he almost snorted when he tried to hold back another laugh. Today was a hard day for him to maintain a calm disposition.
Keun lifted an eyebrow and his features turned into some sort of engaged inquisition in hearing about the correction of "nerd" to "geek." "Alright then geeky girl, the group I favor most is hmm, well you'll probably find out later." In truth, Keun didn't have a favorite group of girls just yet, because obviously, each group had different attributes. Favoring the different groups of girls, or even just people, was never simply manichaen or black & white. He had to give much thanks to the "lower" levels of the high school because they were comprised of the majority of his "fans."
Hmm, a wetsuit. He never heard anyone suggest a wet suit. Girls usually liked guys in Speedos don't they? Over several swim events, he had noticed columns and aisles of the school swim gym filled with giggling, squealing girls. I mean, why wouldn't they come? The guys had had worked extensively hard to get their bodies in tip-top shape to pummel the other teams. "Would it be? - So you're saying that you'd rather picture me as a sleek dolphin or the aqua police?" Keun said almost too enthusiastically. He amused himself at the pictures he produced at "sleek dolphin" and "aqua police." How dorky.
An automatic child-like happiness overwhelmed Keun as soon as he saw the crayons. Believe it or not, he can be very child-like. At amusement parks or other high-level fun areas especially. It must've came from wanting to not explode into over-excessive joy at school. It would be hard to picture a flailing idiot running the school halls... flailing, as cool.
"You know, Crayons are for elementary school - I only have my one broken Crayon because I uh, I stole it from a little kid. I'm a pretty mean kid." A couple of Crayons rolled towards him on the desk and he gently flicked them so they would go up just to roll back down again. "Do you like to draw?" he asked as he tactfully picked up the rolling Crayons in one swift move, ready to start with whatever she wanted him to do. Perhaps he wasn't that good academically, but arts and music were his forte.

Her eyes widened at what he said about hearing what girls talk about. Oh my my that is embarrassing. Girls were pretty unreserved when they were alone. She knew what she was talking about, having been in a girls school for the better half of her life. She could not imagine what girls like Amber Young and her friends would have been saying. She looked at him with an amused smile, watching him do a face palm. ”Come on It wasn’t that bad right?”she asked him coaxingly, trying to keep a straight face. SB tilted her head from side to side, raising her arms giving him the ‘oh well’ look. She had gotten over that but it was funny. She let them have the seat in the end because swim meets were never her thing. She did not have a purpose going to them. It always seemed like they were tailored for the athletic and peppy. ”Great…can’t wait” she said nervously, looking away from him and into space. She was shy around people but once you got her out of her shell she was actually really fun to be around. Byeong had succeeded in that, she was half comfortable around him. She spied him trying to hold back laughter from the corner of her eye. She laughed, kind of touched that he had bothered to keep a straight face. ”It’s okay you can laugh my brother went crazy from laughing at me when I told him about it” she told him happily, smiling at that memory. ”I’ve been caught in more awkward and embarrassing situations than that” she admitted shyly, with a slight nod.
She laughed out loud at how serious he took her correction. He was taking her so seriously. lighten up dude she thought, I’m not serious all the time.. Although she regarded Byeong as one of her friends, he still had no idea what SB was really like. ”Come on the suspense is killing me” she pried, giving him a pleading look. ”I’m going to go with leaders cause they are the most like you” she guessed truthfully, with a curious smile. She laughed out loud at his ‘sleek dolphin’ and ‘aqua police’, the ridiculousness of it all. ”That was actually pretty dorky to begin with” she teased. Maybe she was just immature, she preferred dolphins to 95% naked guys. She took a serious good look at him, pretending to actually consider him as one of those. She could never actually imagine him as one of those. The laughter would kill her. She nodded enthusiastically at his question, ”I prefer dolphins to guys who are 95% naked and dripping wet. Don’t you?” she asked him jokingly, getting less serious by the minute . She glanced at him in shock at his sudden outburst of enthusiasm before recovering with amusement. The boy never did cease to surprise her. Given his cool factor, why was he holding a crayon? One of the world’s biggest mysteries.
”Well everyone is not what they seem to be anymore are they? Next thing you know, Doojoon would come in and steal that crayon back for the little kid” she said to him in reply to him being a mean kid. ”Well then as punishment I guess you’ll have to help me then.” she said, pretending to be stern before going back to her usual happy face.
She laughed at the question. The way he asked had seemed so innocent and child like. ”Yes and no. My best piece of art looks like this” she took his notebook and crayon and drew a stick man on it. ”But I like to draw. Inflicting visual agony from my bad drawings are a major drawback though.” she said cheerfully, returning him the notebook. ”These drawings are not mine. They were done by kids at the Sakura children’s foundation. I teach an art class there…with another friend of course. He does the lessons I just go around helping the kids and grading their work.” she babbled spiritedly, handing him some of the drawings. ”So we have to grade these but I prefer to stick to A- and A+ because they put a lot of effort into these. You can’t blame them for lack of talent” she chattered on enthusiastically realizing that she might be boring him. ”So are you fine with helping me?” she asked worriedly. He was here after all to study, she might be spoiling his plans.

Wasn’t bad?! It sure as was bad. Dealing with the giggly “oh my, look at these shirtless men” routine wasn’t bad, rather listening to what was to be done with said shirtless men was scary. “Wild. Raging. Boar-like. Sex. Seobyul, tell me if you’re alright with hearing that in detail.”
Keun enunciated the words that he had heard repeated, but definitely did not expect Seobyul to provide a response to those offensively obscene words. Not like guys were any less discreet about girls. The social hierarchy was very complicated to begin with in terms of branches within branches of levels, groups, and individual people. With that, it was near impossible to devote so much time in every single person to get to know his or her “true self.” Social hierarchies are usually helpful in the sense of grouping similar people together and allowing them to pick and choose even within the group, thus binding people together. There really wasn’t anything wrong with interacting with different levels though, although spectators usually disagree. If anything, Keun would be able to take it as a vacation to another country and similarly, a tourist might end up liking the country they visited yet still maintaining that loyalty to their home country. “Hmm, yeah, let’s just go with the leaders,” Keun answered after a very brief pause. He hadn’t put much thought into his favorite type or group of girls as the question had assumed, but he continued his sentence with, “what’s your favorite type of guy?” As much as he loved his best friends, the majority of them being guys, Keun would never be able to say that he’d prefer a 95% naked man, dripping wet over a dolphin. “I would pick dolphin of course. Didn’t you know that we’re very similar? From what I’ve heard, girls looove dolphins.” Of course, he had tagged on another playful grin. Keun had never let go of his childish side, though that side almost never comes out in public. His best friends have seen him at theme parks, on a boat, in a thrilling car ride, little children’s birthday parties, and pets. Don’t even mention puppies lest anyone wants to see him explode into a frenzied cuteness attack. Whenever he shopping, he would also pick up something for his own pup, Eltanin. Man’s best friend has to be spoiled rotten with toys and treats. So far, Eltanin was a good replacement for a girlfriend, or at least good practice for spoiling a girl with his girlfriend fund, if he ever planned on getting a girlfriend that is. “Doogoon’s too much for me to handle. I just don’t get the guy.” Keun has already seen Doogoon’s bullying in action. It seemed like one of his favorite targets was Seobyul herself. For what reason, he didn’t know. It was just odd seeing a big athletic-type guy mess around and make fun of a kind, quiet, and studious girl. Just picturing Doogoon angrily walking up to Keun and stealing a Crayon to give to a little kid was too much. He pretended that Doogoon was his right hand, using his middle finger and index finger as “legs,” and made them angrily the stick figure that Seobyul drew so that the hand Doogoon would be able to juggle the giant Crayons with his finger feet. Oh, so she likes being around kids. How nice! Keun really did appreciate kind and generous people. Realizing that she had taken out the drawings and Crayons, asking for help to grade, he pouted. A suitable comparison would be that of an excited puppy with perked ears drooping. It’s okay, you can scribble all you want later, he assured himself. “The Sakura Childrens’ Foundation? Ha, well, if I ever got an A-, I would probably just take a red pen to make it an A+. I always like helping out a friend in need.” Of course he was fine with helping. Maybe they would finish before the bell rang anyhow. This “geek” class hadn’t been so bad after all. Keun hadn’t bought a girl lunch for a while now, so along with grading the colorful drawings, he would have to think about the lunch plans. He nibbled on his lower lip, concentrated on the purple-reddish Crayon he was going to use for grading the drawings. Watch out art careers, the judge is ready to go, well, ready to mark art with either A-‘s or A+’s. [/blockquote][/blockquote] STARRING : SEOBYUL & BYEONGKEUN, WOO! She looked at him curiously when he said those words. SB bit her lip, biting back her laughter. She was just unable to wrap her head around the idea that her tutee was talking to her about sex. When Byeong said boar-like she lost it. She began laughing out loud. Some heads turned around quizzically, shocked at the shy girl’s outburst. She shook her head in embarrassment, feeling a blush creep up into her cheeks. SB looked down immediately, trying to get a hold of herself. ”Boar-like?” she asked him with a smile, after regaining composure. ”I’ll pass…I’m not one for soft porn in the morning” she quipped.
She listened to the question. Her favorite type of guy. She wasn’t shallow, well not to the extent that she would only date rich, popular, good-looking guys. She would happily settle with an average boy on one condition. He had to be nice to her. It drove her crazy to see some guys treat girls like toys or dirt. She hated seeing girls bend over their back just to make a guy happy. Yep that was it. SB didn’t care which clique he came from, she was more interested in how he treated her.
In her old school there was not much social discrepancy. Even though everyone had their close friends, they were all pretty civil with one another with a strong anti bullying policy. Coming to public high school was literally entering an alternate universe. She got picked on, ignored, teased etc. It was hard assimilating to the culture here but SB soon mastered her powers of invisibility.
There were times she wished she wasn’t so invisible but somehow byeong managed to spot her among the sea of faces. She admired him for that, always standing up for her. Damsel in distress as most fairytale writers would have it.
So that was her favorite type of guy, one who would protect her. And at this point in time, it seemed like Byeongkeun was the only one who did it. Of course, she was not going to answer him with you. A guy like you, it would give the poor boy a heart attack, not to mention the multitude of embarrassment that would ensue if Byeong told his friends.
”It’s kind of embarrassing but since we’re at it I guess clark kent aka superman” she finally told him with a shy smile. It was true, her ideal boy would be her superman, sigh cue girly daydream music.
“And penguins. I think boys look more like penguins when they wear diving suits or tuxedoes for that matter. Which is why I can’t keep a straight face at co-ed school dances” she remarked jokingly, extending the happy, lively atmosphere in the air.
She shook her head at the mention of Doogoon. He was just too much. If Byeong found him a handful, how well do you think SB was coping with the little menace? ”Me neither. He’s like a shark with a toothache to me” she agreed, half her head in the clouds. She was never good when it came to conjuring up her own metaphors. But to her, DJ did seem like a shark. A grumpy grumpy shark who always had a toothache.
The bright smile returned to her face once again when she saw the little finger person byeong had made. The finger person was a thousand times cuter than the real shark. She reached forward and grabbed the crayons back, gently taking Doogoon/finger person by her fingers and placing them at the far end of the table. In the process, she stretched Byeong Keun’s arm too. ”If only I could do that in real life” she mused out loud, with a small sigh. The dude was like ten times bigger than her. If only he was like little finger person.
Realising that she was still holding Byeong’s hand, she let go immediately, letting his hand fall a short distance down unto the table. It landed with a small thud no less. She jumped, ”Sorry!” she told him shyly, with utterly no intention of holding his hand.
The atmosphere around them soon bounced back when he made the comment about the A- to an A+. ”How do you think I’ve been getting all A+ on my work. You didn’t really think that I am that smart did you?” she teased, insinuating that she had really tried to change her grades before. Changing the subject quickly, ”Thank you for helping…not that you have a choice actually. Consider this your tuition fee” she grinned, plopping a stack in front of him.
”You know we aren't marking state exam papers you can relax a little oppa”she told him cheerily, marking another A+ on one of the sheets before placing them in the done pile.

There we go! Someone with a nice smile and a cute laugh should keep at it! Making someone laugh or seeing someone happy always made Keun happy. These days, he had been growing a little bored with his daily routines and many of his peers had been pressuring him with, “yo, when are you ever going to get a girlfriend?” or “are you going to just take any girl to the dance? How about those loud ones over there?” He was working on it, somehow. Keun didn’t expect an outburst of laughter from Seobyul though, to the extent that it was. He snickered adoringly as he watched her return to her composure, heads that looked up also turning back to their work and conversations; Along with several comments in the forms of whispers and chatter of course. At least the teacher was apathetic, eyes staring at the same page that he had been reading when Keun had taken a peak at the beginning of the class.
The satisfaction that came with cheery faces and wide smiles always made him feel as if his duty was fulfilled. That is, unlike the never ending piles of schoolwork that called to be completed. He might as well have bought a stylish paper shredder, so at least he’ll have confetti for a party or something.
Superhero! Happily, Keun jumped out of his seat into his Superman pose, his phone slipping out and hitting the floor with a loud clash. That was probably one of his favorite poses anyway. He heard a few girls in the background who made comments along the lines of “ooo~ He’s sooo cool.” His guy friends in the class made the more or less familiar “there he goes again” sigh and head shake. He didn’t respond to the comments, instead he asked Seobyul rhetorically, “I’m pretty cool aren’t I?! Don’t you think I should be a superhero?~” Keun smiled happily when he sat down. Seobyul, the girl that looked so shy and quiet didn’t actually have anything wrong with her. She wasn’t an anti-social, sadist, crazy person – perhaps she just needed to be around more friends.
“The next time I wear a suit, I’ll be sure to waddle,” he said as if it were an unbreakable promise. At the mention of “school dance” though, he perked his head up and looked at her curiously, “school dances? Do you like dances?” Maybe this seemingly geeky girl liked dances? He wouldn’t know, so he asked, picturing an elegant Seobyul in a pretty dress.
Oh my, then again, that was a pretty dorky comparison, cute though. Keun lifted an eyebrow at the Dongoon-is-a-shark-with-a-toothache metaphor Seobyul made. HMM. It was good, because it made sense and picturing it was easy. Hmm hmm. Oh, Seobyul grabbed had moved his hand. He had to lean forward a little on his desk to avoid tipping over, therefore saving himself from major embarrassment of having fallen out of a desk in class. “Don’t you think that maybe Doogoon just needs a hug?” Keun pulled his hand back where Seobyul had left it and poked her shoulder gently, his fingers, still assuming their Doogoon role. ”Then again, don’t worry! I’ll be sure to take care of you. If anything, I can make sure that he doesn’t do what you just did to my finger Doogoon!” he assured her, quickly turning his Doogoon finger person into two thumbs ups.
“Actually, I feel like you take white out to make your A+s to A-s, just so you could look more modest,”
he mused, to point out that he did notice geeky powers. Perhaps he didn’t pay attention in class because he was too busy talking, but Keun surely was more intuitive about people, or so he thought. He looked at the colorful stack of papers and excitedly grabbed the blunt maroon crayon that Seobyul had previously moved from the finger Doogoon. “Don’t worry Kimmy, I’ll pay you back big time, once I figure out how to.” It might’ve been the color and childish happiness that radiated from the children’s papers that made him so excited. “I hope we can grade most if not, all of the drawings before the bell rings,” he said without looking up, drawing a smiley face right next to the A+ he put on one of the drawings of a Picasso-esque violin. Oppa? Keun paused before he reached for another drawing. Would that mean Seobyul was now comfortable with his company? If so, great accomplishment! Keun gave himself a mental “good job” and pat on the back. Regardless of the context, actually hearing a girl calling him oppa felt nice. Maybe he should start listening to his friends and find himself a girlfriend. [/blockquote][/blockquote] STARRING : SEOBYUL & BYEONGKEUN, WOO! She jumped for the third time today when his phone crashed to the floor. It seemed like they were the biggest source of noise in class today. A few turned around and glared at them. The ones who glared at them were the scary nerds. The pioneer nerds of the school and when SB transferred here, they weren’t pleased that she scored higher than them. So there you have it, the reason why she had little friends. She did not exactly fit well with the popular crowd nor did she slide well with the people on the outside. Normally, she would shrink back away from their gaze. But today, she had superman to take her mind of things. and he has to be able to make me laugh she added to her mental list of ideal boy qualities as she looked over at Byeong Keun striking a pose. ”Hahaha” she laughed as she bent down to pick up his phone lest he crushed it in his childlike excitement. In a sense, he reminded her of the children she worked with. Maybe that’s why she was so endeared to him. His question made her blush. Dude! She had never seen any guy act so kid like before. Most of the guys she knew were the ‘I’m so cool –hairflip-’ type. She always had the impression that Byeong Keun was one of them. Guess you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover clique. “ ”Har har. Sit down you super cool person” she said sarcastically with a nice smile. SB brushed his phone off gently, before placing it back on the table. ”you might want to use your super cool powers to make sure if it’s still working” she told him half jokingly half seriously. SB nodded in mock seriousness to correspond with the way he made his promise. ”I’ll be sure to bring a camera” she matched his comment jokingly. She shook her head from side to side, thinking about the question. She had never been to one. Being in a girls school meant all girl dances. The only students who went to those dances had…a different preference in partners. SB was straight for the count. ”I’ve never been to one actually” she told him honestly, ”All girl school dances at my old school weren’t my thing. And when I came here I just didn’t have the luck to go” she replied with a small shrug and a even smaller smile. Her sad social life was no secret. She was sure a smart guy like Byeong Keun would be able to figure that out. She didn’t mind telling him about it, he didn’t seem like the kind who would tell people. Even if he did, the reaction he would get would probably be ‘who the hell are you talking about’ it was funny to think about. I guess she was rather comfortable with her social status maybe to even joke about it. She laughed out loud at Byeong Keun’s remedy for Doogoon’s grumpiness. It would be a funny scene Byeong Keun trying to hug Doogoon or a bloody scene. She rolled her eyes at the thought of Doogoon before looking back at BK with an amused expression. ”You wanna give that theory a shot?” she teased with a semi sly smile. She brushed Doogoon/finger person off her shoulder. ”You know in all fairness he has never gotten physical with his ‘fun’ if you would call it. Maybe he’s not that bad” she mused out loud, completely forgetting about his previous torments before. That was just SB being her usual self. kinda like superman she thought to herself as she looked at him admiringly. Guess Byeong Keun was the closest she would get to finding her superman for now. Or maybe he was. She blinked at the thought of that, trying to push away the feeling. He was a friend and he treated her like one too, nothing more. She smiled at his two thumbs up, ”Thank you. You know that is more than enough for payment. You don’t have to worry about paying me back. In fact I should worry about giving you change. That promise is more that enough” she told him sweetly. The main reason she agreed to tutor him was because Byeong seemed like a genuinely nice guy. And he was. She shrugged at his suggestion, ”How else will I get the credentials to be your tutor. Yup it was all a heinous plot to get the job” she said jokingly before laughing. Whatever grade she got she just took it as it was. It didn’t really matter to her wether it was a plus or minus. No one really cared anymore. Only her brother called her Kimmy. She was stunned for a moment. No one in school ever called her by that name. It made her like him even more. She shrugged at his promise, ”Like I said you don’t have to” she replied casually. A friend was payment enough. She was rather horrified by the amusing idea that she would have to tutor everyone she wanted to make friends with. Guess in this case he was the only exception. ”We will. Use your superpowers” she teased him about superman again, good naturedly of course. She surveyed his expression again when she called him oppa. She called every guy she was comfortable with Oppa. Nicknames could get people pretty offended when you called them something they didn’t like. Oppa was the safest bet. But for Byeong Keun she decided to play it even safer. ”Do you mind if I call you that. I call most guys that” she asked with an unsure smile before stacking three more graded work into the done pile.

Hanging out with his daily group of friends made him –have- to be one of those “I’m so cool, -hairflip-“ types, or at least made him seem like one, having an image to maintain. He did have an ego, though he is able to keep it in check, keeping his cockiness levels down with being as kind as he can to everyone, regardless of who they were. Keun’s close friends knew differently though, that none of them were genuinely mean or egotistical.
The problem with owning expensive things is getting them destroyed. Keun had always been careful with his things, often talking to them and making sure his most prized possessions weren’t cold or something. It was rather odd, but luckily, not many people have seen him talk to his things, asking them if they’d like to “go out and see some light,” or “you poor thing, you must be cold!” “AH! Baby, are you okay?!” he said, quite loudly, as soon as Seobyul had set his phone on the table in front of him. Freaking out yet wasn’t necessarily since he didn’t actually check yet if it was working or not. The phone, along with the laptop – those two things were so important to Keun. Not only did he have everything on it, he needed it to keep in touch with everyone he needed to get in touch with. No point in freaking out! He picked up his phone as if it were a fragile, dying plant and pouted when he noticed a vein-y crack on the top right corner of its screen. Right at the “on” button? ;; Almost frantically, Keun successively pressed the on button, but held back a dramatic “NOOO, WHYY.” ”Ah, OH, it’s working just fine. But, oh look, my batteries are almost out. ” He tried to sound as assuring as possible, not over reacting about an important necessity for living just a phone. Recharge it – he would need to refill his wallet for another phone hunt. Buying a new phone wasn’t part of his to-buy list though, which called for a complete budget analysis and re-organization. Sigh. Keun sat down and frowned after he made sure no one was looking.
This school’s dances were quite fun, given the work the overly dedicated and preppy student board has done. Almost every event had been pumped up with energy and school spirit. Woo! ”Would you go to our school dances if someone asked you?” After repeating in his head what he just said and hearing it, Keun corrected himself saying, ”I mean, not that anyone shouldn’t ask you – if they haven’t, they probably would, or should, or.” –o- Oh my god. Keun had always been articulate but he genuinely didn’t want to insult Seobyul, hence his corrective rant. It was imperative to keep calm even after his silly run on. Although, Keun was facedesking in his BK world. Gah, you practically just called her a loser.
”Such crazy thoughts from such a seemingly normal girl,” he shook his head, actually thinking about practice with Doogoon. Keun knew that DJ was a very beasty guy. Man, that tough guy was actually a tough guy. He saw DJ pretty often at sports conditioning actually. He would definitely be one brutal shark to mess with. Hopefully, he won’t ever physical with his “fun.” He could probably step on someone and damage, uh, everything.
Buying Seobyul lunch was a good start to paying her back for her tuition, he thought. His schoolwork had been suffering long enough and he really needed to get his act together. After all, Keun couldn’t just rely on his looks and charm for everything he needed. ”It’s almost lunch, so you better think about what you want to eat,” he nodded seriously. Keun carried around a lot of cash, ready to spend, so money wasn’t a problem. He was completely ready for Seobyul to pick out main courses and deserts from every food stop in the cafeteria, however much this girl could eat.
Of course he had to. It would be extremely bad manners to just take something without returning the favor. Or at least, he conferred with himself about returning something in terms of money or items. ”Nonsense,” half referring to her comment and half on the wavy squiggles on one of the drawing papers. It was labeled “tree.” Keun gingerly marked the paper with an “A-,“ tempted to make a comment that it looked like spaghetti with five chopsticks in them.
”Well, you might not know this but I do have superpowers that will come in handy here~” he replied, his voice changing as if something amazing just happened. Keun lifted his index finger, in a “just wait” motion, and smiled and he stealthily grabbed two drawings and separated them like how a magician would separate cards in a trick. ”Watch this ambidextrous skill,” he said while gently biting his tongue in complete concentration. With two crayons in his hand, he steady balanced the crayons on their tips on both papers. He was about to perform the extremely difficult task of writing A+ and A- on both drawings. His eyes shifted left to right from each paper. Giving up after his left hand’s circle turned out snakey and ugly, he lightly slapped both crayons on the table and put his face to the table as well.
”You may call me whatever you want to call me,” Keun looked at her and smiled, his head still on the table. Most people called him variations of his name, but he was actually pretty picky about what other people called him. Well, she was a friend, so as long as she didn’t call him Tasty Yogurt Platypus or anything, he would be fine with it.

”Ah! Baby are you okay” to anyone who was paying attention to their conversation, they would gather that Byeong Keun was talking to his phone, as normal as that may seem. But to the rest of the class, it seemed like he was talking to her. More heads snapped around for the third time, obviously in shock at what they had heard. Sigh high school kids and their imaginations. SB eyes widened as she looked at the entire class staring back at her. The teacher was still buried in his magazine thank god for that. But she was still mortified at the turn of events.
She smiled sheepishly at the rest of the class, giving them the ‘I’m sorry he’s just a little crazy’ expression before shrinking back in the chair.
However, she couldn’t ignore the fact that part of her wanted to respond to that. Play along and do a little acting exercise. It would be pretty funny but she would probably scare the poor boy off. It wasn’t a good idea to take such a risk to such a nice boy. Against her better judgment, she decided to go with the safe public apology option.
Deciding to ignore the rest of the class she turned her attention back to the boy and his phone. Talk about split personality. She did admire him for trying to stay calm. It was funny trying to see him keep it together.
What normal person with a social life wouldn’t be worried about their phone. She guessed that a popular person like Byeong Keun would be no exception. ”Ahh poor batteries” she nodded slowly giving him a smile, tilting her head so that she could see the screen. It was dead.
”May I?” she said before taking the phone from his hands. She removed the back cover of the phone and took out the battery along with the sim card. She waved the battery in the air before placing both items carefully back into the phone. She flipped it over and pressed the on button. The screen flickered to life slowly. It worked. The crack wasn’t that obvious but she figured he would change it anyway. No materialistic self respecting teenager would carry around a phone with a broken screen. Placing it gingerly back on the table ”I think it’ll get you through the day. Sorry about your phone. I’m guessing you’re gonna have to get a new baby?” she asked him with a kind smile. he’s sad she thought to herself, hoping that the smile or a working phone would cheer him up.
She raised her eyebrows at his slip up. Her eyes darting awkwardly all around the classroom while he untangled himself from his words. She bit back a smile. It was cute. The way he was so considerate about her feelings. Like she said, Superman. She chuckled at his explanation wondering what to say to that. ”Should? So you’re going to take me to the dance?” she asked him playfully, looking rather expectant. She was obviously kidding. Hoping that the absurdity of the matter would offer him a quick rebound from his temporary loss of words. like that would ever happen my dear she told herself.
She laughed at his next comment about crazy thoughts. ”You got the seemingly normal part right” she told him, ”I totally have a secret identity. Like a ninja spy assassin person” she told him, nodding her head slowly like it was a big secret. After which she chuckled at her own ridiculous comment.
She checked her watch when he said it was almost time for lunch. While a period sure flew by when you have company. Her eyes narrowed to right when the mention of lunch came about. She was still nervous. Sure she was doing fine while interacting with him. But she wasn’t sure how she would fare with an entire table full of people. Cool people no less.
She was totally grateful that Byeong had taken it upon himself to help her assimilate into the high school jungle that was the cafeteria. Deep down she wanted to go. But she was afraid that she wouldn’t be popular people material. What was worse, she would embarrass the sweet boy who was trying to thank her for tutoring. Yep it seemed like she had to get out of her lunch engagement, in the most tactful way of course. ”Oh you know what! I’m so sorry. I forgot I was supposed to help the librarian run errands during lunch... It’s a good way to get extra credit” Total lie. She hated the library. It was such a disturbing place not to mention stereotypical. Most people assumed that SB hung out at the library when she was unoccupied but she preferred to spend her time loitering around. She wasn’t a geek at heart, just on the surface. Furthermore, the last thing Seobyul needed was extra credit given her stellar grades. But she was late for school and missed breakfast this morning. So she was really hungry…
She focused on the tree, it took her awhile but she identified it as a tree. She tilted her head to the right trying to make sense of the tree. ”I guess an A for mastering the concept of abstract art but a minus for being too abstract” she mused out loud with a chuckle, sitting up straight.
She watched while he tried to do magic. Turning into babysitter mode she clapped her hands, ”well done Byeong Keun” she told him subconsciously using the same voice she used when she talked to kids. SB looked rather impressed. She had perfected feigning amazement while working with children. To them everything seemed amazing and deserved applause. Guess he seems too much like little kid she thought happily to herself. Deciding that it was much more awesome when guys aren’t afraid to act stupid. She lost her cool when he tried the ambidextrous trick. She shook her head sadly. Boys will be boys. She finally understood that saying. She shrugged ”It’s not that bad…at least it matches the rest of the picture” she tried to sound serious and assuring but broke her concentration and started laughing. She poked his shoulder gently, ”It’s okay we all have that superpower. Maybe you can fly or something” she nodded seriously and encouragingly. It was so adorable to see how seriously she took his disappointment. Or weird. Whatever. The dude talks to phones.
”Gotcha.” she replied, happily clapping her hands. She counted off her fingers, ”That would make you…oppa number 9” she said aloud before going back to the marking. ”Five more to go.” she told him. Fantastic. Normally she would take two days to finish this. She should make him her little marking elf permanently.

Besides feeling a hundred times more grateful to Seobyul for temporarily bringing his phone child back to life, Keun was amazed that she was able to fix it while he was in his oh-god-it’s-hopeless fit. Guess he’ll just have to conceive a new phone child on his free time, even though it would be an emergency sooner or later – and who would he be able to call without a phone!
Keun hadn’t been paying attention to much of anything that was going on in the class when it first started. It was funny actually, how much of his attention he planned to devote to his new tutor. Or at least, this has been more than the normal dosage of Keun he’s given a new girl friend. Friend, that’s a girl.
Actually, Keun didn’t have a date to the dance. He used to just go with the most attractive girl or most popular girl, as expected, but that was a long ago, before his friends actually got their own girlfriends to take. Good thing the big dance event wasn’t until further into the school year. How embarrassing it would be to buy a date. Going with just the squealy ones would draw too much attention to him, not allowing Keun to actually show off~ ”Maybe I’ll find you a date – or teach you how to get one” he winked promisingly. He’d been able to play matchmaker pretty well, just not for himself. Funny, he thought of DJ first thing when he was reviewing his who-to-set-Seobyul-up-with date list. Well, Keun was probably thinking a little crazily since his child’s hopeless injury.
”Should I be even more scared of you than I already am?”, he teased at the mention of “ninja spy assassin person.” Those cheesy films were pretty cheesy. He scooted away from her jokingly when he made the comment, but moved back to the same spot he was in after.
Ah, extra credit. Keun was able to catch on at her sudden cancellation for lunch. He was well aware that this girl didn’t need extra credit, and getting extra credit would barely do anything to her grade. Hm, maybe I’m just forcing all of this onto her too quickly?, an epiphany finally smashing him right in the face. He nodded slowly when he listened to her excuse, with more of a “don’t worry, I get what you’re really trying to say” nod. ”Where were you planning on going to eat lunch today? – How about I drop something off for you at the library and we’ll have a lunch day some other time, outside of school?” he suggested, proud of his plan. Seeing Seobyul outside of school would be less uncomfortable on her, or at least he hoped. It’s not like she radiated geekiness and the words “dork” following around her as she walked. ”If anything, we could meet up some time at my mom’s café?” His café, an always homely atmosphere, would probably be less intimidating. Plus, he would be able to show off his baking and caffeinated drink making skills. Try finding anyone who can sprinkle powdered sugar as good as I can~
This girl was too nice. Keun tried finding the tree in the picture, but couldn’t and trying any further would only frustrate him. He was staring at spaghetti with chopsticks in it after all. It was nice that Seobyul found a light excuse for the awfully bad interpretation of a tree instead of telling him simply that “it sucked.” He smiled admiringly. Today was just a day of new. He’d seen a ton of girls be completely mean just to agree with someone, looking like they didn’t have an opinion. ”Even you could do better~” he told her, sticking his tongue out playfully. Her previous stick figure drawing was pretty good, lines being straight and all. Yeah.
Being talked to like a kid was actually fine. I mean, he’s pretty much a kid at heart, a kid that wanted to be cool, which meant he could only by kiddy with friends that already knew him well. In all honesty, hearing her hands clap for him felt pretty satisfying. Good thing he didn’t let out a loud “yay!” because he always tried very hard to not embarrass himself. ”Hey! Well, I’d like to see you try getting your left hand to draw as badly as mine” immediately raising his head from the desk with a half gasp and nudged her with his hand. Are you supposed to be touchy with girls? Isn’t that bad? Of course he could fly. Or at least he pretended sometimes. Who hasn’t pretended that they could fly?
”Oh my, I’ve never been this far down someone’s list before.” Would this mean that she was actually close to many other people? he mused. Five more to go and five minutes of class left. Keun was ready to slam down the last drawing, triumphantly conquering it. He’d never been so excited to look at kid’s drawings before anyway, but well, it was somewhat enjoyable.

She rolled her eyes playfully at his promising wink. Haha he was going to teach her how to get guys? Not to be rude/mean/realistic what could Byeong Keun possibly know about picking up guys. On the other hand he probably did have more experience in handling girls and he was a boy himself. What could be the harm. Haha it would be pretty funny to see what he had to say. More in depth perceptions on the opposite sex perhaps? That along was good enough to make her say yes. "You know...sell a man fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man how to fish, he eats for the rest of his life." she told him "That would be like teaching me a life skill so we're even" she smiled playfully with a happy nod. "the art of attracting the opposite sex. how animalistic" she spoke her amused thoughts out loud. Oh boy did it sound wrong but she was curious as to how it would go down.
Now personal life to SB was...personal. She didn't like people prying but more often than never no one did pry. No one cared anyway. No one in school knew about her deceased parents. No one in school knew about her life in general. So she did not blame Byeong Keun for assuming she was hopeless when it came to the opposite sex. She kinda admired the way he tried to fix that about her. It made her feel like he actually liked her as a friend of course. Haha and if it would ease the boy's guilt about free tuition why not right? she thought to herself.
She wasn't a veteran when it came to dating neither was she a complete idiot. She had her share of boyfriends but they were accountable for. Maybe two or three? They weren't from school, not many people in school knew her that well.
She shot him a mysterious look when he teased her about the ninja spy reference. Natural playful reflex. But after his comment registered completely, she opened her mouth wide. "You're scared of me? What? But i'm so...me!" she protested jokingly. Her acting was so horrible that it was laughable.
She peeked up at the incredibly amazing guy trying his best to make her feel comfortable. She halo-ed him in her head. That boy was so sweet for trying to help her up the social ladder. He did deserve a imaginary halo above his carefully styled hair. She smiled up at him while listening to his offer. "It's cool. I'll pick up something from the vending machine and head over there. Lunch time is too short as it is." she replied while considering his second offer. Checking her imaginary social schedule, empty as usual. She really had no reason to turn him down. "That's definitely something.. I'll bring over a few copies of my notes for you too. When are you available? Like when you're not saving the world and going to parties" kimmy asked him with an expectant smile. She figured it would be better if she brought things over. One, it would serve as a reminder that she was just his tutor and nothing more. Two, she really did want to help him.
She laughed. "wow I didn't know you held me in such high esteem" she retorted his quip and stuck her tongue out in response too. My my it really did seem like SB was making a new friend and getting pretty comfortable at that. It was like seeing a rainbow. Rare. Most people in school would probably be mortified to find out that she's capable of joking and laughing. Guess it was all about appearances wasn't it? Maybe if she came to school and joined the cheer squad, things would have been different. Like parallel universally different. Then again she wasn't sure if she would like cheerleader seobyul. Some of the girls had really -- high self esteems. And really could not see herself being such a person.
"Haha please I would win that hands down. But being the fantastically nice person that I am I will let you have this win" she said with a mocking smile and a over exaggerated hair toss. All in an attempt driven by pure girlish playfulness.
She elbowed him back. The rules of how you were supposed to treat the opposite gender flew out the window. One thing about the society here was that boys and girls had to keep their distance if they were strangers. Some people were sensitive about physical affection. Seobyul was not one of them. I mean she wasn't loose like some of the girls here but she knew who was good and who was not so good. Byeong was classified under good guys along with her brother and her few friends. Her not so good guy list only had one boy and I think we all know who that is.
She gave him an amused smile in return for his vague disappointment. "there's a first time for everything she said to him in a 'you can't help it' voice. Of course she was kidding. She meant the ninth person who let her call him oppa. don't worry you're just the ninth person who let me call him oppa. I'm not as twisted to rank boys" she gave him a knowing smile. How did he know about the lists? Every girl in school probably had a list. "but- props to you for figuring out that you are a front runner in most lists. How many confessions do you actually receive in a month?" she asked him, genuinely curious. She wanted to know how many girls actually confessed to him to satisfy her gossip curiosity. Hey if you're gonna gossip might as well go to the source itself.

If only he had any actual experience in relationships. Byeongkeun has been in “relationships,” but… well, no. They weren’t really anything like a relationship to begin with, so they don’t count. His experience around girls consisted purely on charm and entertainment – he never got to the emotional stuff with girls. Cooking, shopping, presents, outings were some of the few things Keun wanted to do whenever he got a girlfriend. He would be a pretty dedicated boyfriend but in any case, he definitely knew how most guys thought.
”And there you go. Exactly as you said it.” Perhaps he didn’t know much about relationships having never been in one, but he sure knew how to attract the opposite sex. If he were to actually study anything so seriously, it would be attracting the opposite sex, of course, not wanting any boys following him around like girls.
Keun twirled a crayon skillfully in his left hand, running through the schedules in his head. He was definitely good at arranging his schedule around to accommodate as many things as he can to make sure that he always had something to do. He snapped back into attention and eagerly turned to Seobyul. ”Tell you what Kimmy, here’s my phone number and IM. Just tell me whenever you’re free or if you ever need anything!” he cheerfully smiled. Keun reached for the nearest scrap paper he saw and picked it up. He hated untidy things so his meticulous made him rip the frilly ends of the ripped paper, making it nice and straight. He neatly wrote his contact info on the piece of paper and handed the folded piece of paper to Seobyul. ”Just, if I don’t pick up my phone, you know why.” He reminded her by shaking his sad sad phone, dying as he talked. Oh! Come by my café anytime? Or whenever you’re hungry? We don’t only serve sweets and coffee.” Desserts were probably his specialty, and he was always happy to show off his pastry skills. Too bad he couldn’t share his sweets with someone who appreciated them as much as he did. Asides from his social networks and phones, he considered the food that he cooks his uh, food children. Most of the time, Keun would be the only one working in the café, so the environment was usually pretty low attention, besides a few workers that would be working with him. To be honest, he was looking forward to his lunch plans with Seobyul. He never made food for a girl before, like he always wanted to. Well, Keun would probably stealthily set up a lunch deliverer to make sure the geek was eating. You need food to convert to brain power anyway.
Keun stood up from his seat and stretched, having finished grading the last drawing. A perfect looking goldfish. Wow, just amazing – those beautiful bubble eyes and solid gold colored scales filled in neatly inside the lines. Besides the unbalanced fins of course, but he just considered it a Nemo fish. He quickly glanced at his watch, noting that they only had a few minutes left. I have to pack- Right. I didn’t bring anything to this class, Keun remembered, looking down at the desk with none of his things on it. As he thought about the question Seobyul asked him, he straightened the finishing drawings on the table, patting it on the top and sides. ”Oh, am I?”, sounding shocked as if she said something unbelievable. ”Ah, well maybe I am,” he replied, bringing his hand up to his chin and nodding slowly with his eyes closed. With both of his eyes still closed, he peaked at her through one eye and slowly responded, ”Wellll, if you really want to know, I get asked out pretty often.” He would’t be able to count how many confessions he actually received, not like confessions were ever really necessary, given the girly giggles and loud “you-are-so-hot-I-want-you” comments. He met some girls that he never knew before that made him very interesting and creative gifts. So much effort just in someone they didn’t know.

”Awesome so when’s the first lesson?” she asked him with a shy smile. What ideas will he come up with? She wasn’t sure but she had a feeling those lessons would mostly be correcting her physical attributes. Oh no he wouldn’t put her in a short skirt and make her wear make up would he? It would be pretty funny. Chim byeong keun trying to give her a makeover. The world was seriously coming to an end. She had never tried flirting, like coy smile funny banter flirting. The poor girl honestly had no idea what flirting was all about. Do they bat their eyes and flip their hair all in an effort to get the guy going crazy. Haha it would be pretty funny to see her try. ”Just to be clear you’re not going to make me wear a revealing outfit right” she checked before making a face which showed her disgust in an adorable way.
She watched him in amazement as he scribbled down his number. He was giving him her number? She fainted internally, her mind died for a second as he handed her the piece of paper. A seriously awkward moment passed as she stared at the paper like it was on fire. . She took it from him, eyebrows raised expectedly. This is the part where I get rudely awakened she thought to herself, imaginarily pinching herself. ”Thank you” she fanned the piece of paper awkwardly before clasping it in her folder, hoping he didn’t notice that strange moment she had.
”I’ll be sure to call you when I get into trouble” she assured him cheerfully, regaining her composure. She looked at him sympathetically as he reminded himself of the tragedy that had just struck. ”Umm…” she began awkwardly, patting his shoulder ”Don’t worry at least you still have your last few moments with harry the phone” she told him, earnestly sympathetic. Harry the phone? Where did that come from? SB could hit herself for something so dumb. She just named his phone Harry. Why would she do that. Guess she wasn’t thinking straight.
”Mhm I’m hungry most of the time. I have a bottomless desert stomach.” She said as a matter of factly, as they both watched the dying phone. ”I’ll bring flowers for him when I come over too he deserves a proper burial” she sighed and said in her cute but serious way again, patting the phone.
She flipped open her folder and snuck a peek at the schedule. She didn’t have a shift on Saturday. SB was free on Saturday! ”I may come by on Saturday. If you’re working” she wondered aloud. It seemed like the silver lining. She didn’t have to face the pressure of the popular kids and she could spend time with him. As friends as friends kimmy she scolded herself. Today was sunnier than she hoped for but she didn’t dare think any further. Getting hurt/rejected was not on the job specifications when she took up the job.
She took the neatly sorted stack from him and slid it in the pretty blue folder, which matched her bag. SB gathered the crayons and zipped them back up into the white pouch. She packed everything while listening to his response.
How could anyone be so calm? Haha guess the dude just radiated coolness and had as many confessions as the As on her grades. ”I guessed as much Mr. I’m so hot” she joked. Just as she was about to say something, the bell rang. The loud ringing never seemed louder as it cued the end of the lesson. Aww bye bye popular kid. She shrugged it off as the bell rang, ”Well lesson’s over.” she told him as she eyed the teacher who gathered his things and sauntered out of class. The class was in utter chaos and people were talking so loudly. His friends turned around and yelled something she couldn’t quite make out. oh well it was fun while it lasted she thought happily to herself, giving him another one of her sweet smiles. ”Have fun at lunch oppa” she said happily, ”Thanks for being my marking elf” she joked, nudging him.

”Let’s make the lessons interminable. That way, you’ll get more out of it during our real life situations.” Keun clapped his hands together, excited when he thought about a Seobyul who’d have guys lining up and DJ, in line enough to not bother her anymore. His plans involved mainly conversing with guys and how to keep one’s attention. Like himself, many other guys get bored easily, and some may be obnoxiously rude when expressing that boredom. Of course, he himself never liked rudeness so he tries his best to make sure he isn’t; and that’s why he stays away from boring people as much as possible. Kimmy has the looks, so we don’t need to fix that anyway, he thought, observing her once again. Personally, Keun preferred the more natural look and revealing outfits weren’t really much of his thing.
”Ugh, no way – but maybe we could go on a shopping day sometime.” He got out of his seat and picked up Seobyul’s bag that was on the floor next to her, holding it up. While holding the bag up, he looked around the area they were in and made sure that neither of them forgot to pack anything. He had nothing to worry about anyway, having just his dead phone, classified as important.
Keun blinked with a confused smile as soon as he heard “Harry the phone.” She named his phone, ah. AH, what a good name for a phone? Perhaps he’ll buy a fur coat or a bunny cover for his new one. Unfortunately he had already named his current phone, Phone Buddy. It was a reference to that one Spongebob episode that he loved, though –his- phone buddy was much more important than Spongebob’s bubble buddy. ”Watch out, because I’m a pretty good cook~” he nodded confidently. His specialty being sweets of course.
His work shifts were most set on the weekends and the café was generally more crowded in the mornings. Perfect setting. Warm, pretty, decorated, and definitely homely. It was a nice place to chat things out or even just sit and enjoy the food and atmosphere. ”Come by any time - In the café, I’m an extremely hard worker.”And he was, just as long as he had things to do. After his café duties were completely done, he’d have nothing else to do.
As soon as he saw her pack away her folders and crayons into her bag, Keun got out of her way, allowing her to walk in front of him. He lightly placed his hand on her shoulder to lead her through the back of the crowd. ”You know it,” he replied to her “mr I’m-so-hot” comment and stuck his tongue out at her.
”Just let me know if you ever need anything Kimmy~ And thanks for today, eat a lot so you can replenish your brain energy” he said as she reached the door, bending down a bit to give her a friendly wave. Regrouping with his friends immediately as he reached the door, Keun kept an eye on her as she walked down the hall to make sure no one was harassing her. One of his friends asked him, “what’s all that about?” as the others were talking around him, discussing their plans for tonight’s party. Smiling happily, he laughed, “be nice to my new girl friend.” Of course, he paused briefly between “girl” and “friend.” Signaling to his friends, the group walked along in a block.
